Tears In Heaven

Today is day one of NaBloPoMo and so begins the month long journey of blogging every day.

This is also the hardest day of the year for me. I lost my mom 3 years ago today due to a car accident. It's never easy losing someone you love, but when you lose them suddenly like that, I just can't explain the sadness that you go through. I miss her every day. I miss her even more when I hear of others talk about their moms and I know that I won't have that anymore. I only have memories....I'm so thankful for those.

I don't mean to get all sad here, but it's part of me, and it's a day that will not be forgotten. More importantly, she was the kind of person that would be impossible to forget. I just miss her so...

Time can bring you down, time can bend your knee, time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please  ...

Much Love!!!

  1. Oh, KarrieLyne, my heart goes out to you! I lost my mom last November 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We knew we were losing her due to cancer - I can only imagine losing her suddenly like you did your mom. My prayer for you today is that you find some peace and comfort in your memories.

  2. What to say? I don't know the right words, but as I sit here with tears in my eyes from your post, I know I'll be saying an extra prayer for you today. Love you, friend!

  5. "Beyond the door, There's peace I'm sure, And I know there'll be no more Tears in heaven."

I lost my dad suddenly the year this song came out and it always reminds me that this world is not the end of life, but can be the beginning of a wonderful eternity.

These are my own thoughts on grief...
The pain changes, waxes and wans. Our love keeps us from being numb to it, and always brings thoughts of good times from our minds to our hearts, to dry the tears and causes us to smile at their memory.
    Blessings and Prayers.

  6. Losing somebody suddenly is hard. My brother was struck by lightning and died 5 days later, never waking from his coma. It was hard losing him but I know Families are Forever! I can't imagine losing my mom. HUGS!I am sure you will see her again.

  12. I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away 8 years ago after a long fight with cancer. It was the day before my birthday. It's just never the same when they are gone, and the day is always hard when it comes around each year. Thinking of you.

  18. My Dad is who I miss. He was the best Dad to my sister and I. He lived a long life, and has been gone for 9 years. I still miss him. You'll always miss your Mom, but that's because she was a good Mom, worth missing.

  19. I'm so sorry, Karrie. I have an idea of how you're feeling, as my dad died unexpectedly when I was 27. It does get easier. Eventually you will be able to enjoy the memories without experiencing the sorrow.

  24. Hi KarrieLyne. I feel so sad reading your post and I am sending you a great big hug today. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom...no one can ever replace our moms, that's for sure. I know how you feel...I lost my grandfather the Friday before Thanksgiving 20 years ago. He was a very special person and one of the dearest people in my life. He was 83 and was brutally murdered while returning home from a Thanksgiving dinner at his church! Losing someone that quickly and violently is indeed hard and it takes a long time to get over it. But time does lessen the pain and the longing for them, and knowing that you'll see them again someday is a comfort. I'll be lifting you up in prayer today!

    XOXO,

    Cyndi

  26. Hi Karrie. I wanted to say I am sorry for your loss and I know how you feel. I lost my Mom last year to cancer. Some days I still cannot believe it at all that she is gone. I can't imagine how hard that must be for you to have lost her so suddenly. I am thinking of you and sending hugs and support to you.

  27. Oh, my heart goes out to you. Losing someone close in such a sudden way is so traumatic. That video is such a poignant tribute as Eric Clapton is really singing from the heart in this. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

  30. I am so sorry to hear this. My mother died after a long bout with cancer 13 years ago this month and my father died in really bad car accident 5 years ago this month (an 18 wheeler ran a stop light at 65 mph) and it is hard to process it when it happens that way. As sad as illness is, you can say at least goodbye. You will always miss her but that ache does ease enough for you to remember the happy times instead. Man. November sucks, huh?
