We all love toys. Right? Please agree with me. It will make me feel better.
Now what you define as "toys" could be different from mine or it could quite possibly be the same. Either way, toys are fun! ;)
I got a new toy. I've been wanting one of these bad boys since last year when the first one came out. I didn't get one then because I told myself I didn't need it. I still don't need it, but I got it anyway. We just have to splurge sometimes. Right? *nod your head yes, there you go* ;)
So what is my new toy.....
And cuz I know you'll probably ask, yes, that is Sherbet Pips you see behind it. Part of the newest quilt I am working on. I really love this line. I think I need more Pips! So so so cute!
There he is again sporting the super cool orange magnetic cover. Ohhhhh and a bee block I did for Katie. Here is a better shot with out "show off" in the way...heh!
This block was paper pieced. I grumbled. A lot. I love the look of the blocks but boy are they a project! I hope she likes it. The theme was stars.
Something else I will be digging into soon is this pile of yummy goodness...
This is Amanda Herrings new line called Sugar & Spice! If you love it, I suggest you get it while you can. This stuff has wings and is flying out the doors!
I'll keep you posted!
So...what new toys have you splurged on lately? Inquiring minds want to know! :)
Much Love!!!
I just bought a quilt kit today that I totally didn't need, I love it. I have 2 gift cards to one quilt shop but I bought the quilt kit from a different shop, so I still have money to spend on more fabric! You'll have to watch my blog for my progress.
ReplyDeleteMy newest toy is my NookColor.
ReplyDeleteI L♥VE it!
I can borrow books from the library, of course, buy books from Barnes and Noble,
and I can check my email and send replies and blog from my NookColor.
I L♥VE it!
Hugs,
Gerry
Good for you, you definitely deserve it... still haven't got my stuff from Amanda=(
ReplyDeleteOhh, I love my block! Sorry it caused you to grumble, but it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy latest splurge--also an iPad! I had buyer's remorse at first, but I got over it. :)
My awesome husband, who I totally owe him a huge toolbox for this, surprised me with a brand new janome memory craft sewing machine :) :) :).
ReplyDeleteI had been looking at this machine for almost 3 months, debating weather or not to just take the plunge and buy it. It's good to treat yourself to something nice once in awhile :)
Happy Quilting!

Awesome! I did a double take when I opened your post as I am reading it on my brand new white iPad2. For a minute I was confused, like when you look into a mirror reflecting a mirror... ;) I love mine too!
ReplyDeleteYou are gonna need the new tutorial I am doing for Riley Blake LOL
ReplyDeleteColour me green! I so want an ipad2!! Like you I held off but am so tempted. I haven't bought anything except fabric lately!
ReplyDeleteI love that line. My sister just sent me 2 dozen fq of it. I'm lucky to have a great sister! Have fun with your new toy!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the ipad!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a sewing machine on ebay and am now eagerly awaiting its arrival. I got it used (and there were no online reviews of it) and I am not quite sure of its features but I am hoping that it can embroider (fingers crossed!).
Not that I have the time to actually use it but maybe I will just skip sleep and taking showers :)
This is so silly but my newest toy doesn't have anything to do with quilting at all, unless you count getting the house ready for my sewing ladies to come over - it's a Bissell Steam & Sweep! (And I love it...) But I promised hubby an iPad 2 for our anniversary (back in January) and he just got it - he hasn't let me play with it much, which is probably a good thing! I'll just plod along with my MacBook.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your "other" eye candy, too!
I plurged and nabbed a Neptune honeybun on etsy .... way more money than I should have spent :( but I had no Neptune and can't find any reasonably .... mulling over what to do with it and petting it lovingly in the meantime!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I've finally started your charm pack quilt a long! I'm using Pure and have all my HSTs and 4 patches done, will probably start building blocks this weekend!
I'm not trying to sell anything, but If you decide you need an easier keyboard try the ZAGGmate. MR bought me an ipad last June and I didn't hardly use it for the first 6 months. The wifi didn't want to work at home, and I have touch screen issues (even the littlones on laptops) it's an electrical thing. We got Verizon to upgrade their interface issues and Voila'
ReplyDeleteSince I got the Zaggmate keyboard, aluminum case combo I use my iPad all the time. I kind of wish he had waited for the one with a camera...Jetson phoning with family and friends would be fun. Oh I think Apple calls it facetime, lol.
Use it all the time. I even bought an app for keeping my quilting projects organized, FabricStashXL.
LOVE my iPad... making a hexie case for it right now. two great (free) quilt apps are Robert Kaufman's calculator & Block fab. The block fab is kind of basic but it lets me play with designs when I cant be quilting.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't really gotten into the Sherbet Pips until I see you sewing with it, what are you making? I might be forced to try and find some...I got an e-reader for Christmas...haven't gotten into the IPad craze yet...
ReplyDeleteI just had to respond - I just got my Ipad2! and it is dreamy. I love Apple!
ReplyDeleteI really love the Sugar and Spice. I have not splurged and gotten any yet. Still waiting on the ipad2. It is tempting.
ReplyDeleteNice! New toys are fun. (So is reading your blog btw. I often laugh along.) I look forward to upgrading my iphone and imac - eventually.
ReplyDeleteMy recent splurge isn't anything I can hold, but it was soooo worth it. Went to Bora Bora for our honeymoon. It was amazing.
Okay shame on me, but totally JEALOUS!! When my last laptop died I decided I wanted one of the iPads .... saving for it now .... congrats on yours! :) Have fun with all your toys :) :)
ReplyDeleteHi!!! Congrats on the new toy. I got one as a birthday gift from my husband. I love it, but I use Google reader to surf different quilt blogs and have a tough time with it. How do you keep in touch with quilter blogs with the IPAD?
ReplyDeleteI didn't need one either, but I got it anyway. It came in the mail yesterday. I LOVE it. I even went out and bought myself a gift card so I could buy apps for it. Have fun!!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Have fun playing with your new toy!
ReplyDeletejust bought a new janome horizon lots to play with couldnt part with my 6600p though now i can piece and do other projects and quilt without changing feet back and forth my next will be a small embroidery machine i think
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your iPad. I want one so bad I can taste it. I am hoping I get one this summer when I get some of my consulting money!
ReplyDeleteI did exactly what you did, held off getting an iPad because I was going to wait for the 2nd. generation to arrive. Then when it came out I tried to convince myself I didn't need it but like you I was going to treat myself and even stood in line for over an hour to get it! But now that I have it (and I also have the orange cover) I just love it! The best feature for me is it's portability and that it's "on" in a second and I don't have to start up my MacBook.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't justify one either but my wonderful husband bought me one today - just because! I am reading your blog, curled up in an armchair and totally loving the iPad experience.
