You Can't Have One With Out the Ooooother!

You sang the title too, right? Yeah, I know you did. That's why I love y'all! Cuz you're dorks just like me! Hahahah!  :)

I've had my iPad for a few weeks now and he's been a bit nekked. Don't giggle. This is serious stuff! ;)

Well, I took care of that a couple of days ago.

I've been playing around with a new fabric line called Pick A Bunch by Nancy Mims for Robert Kaufman. How many favourites can we have again? I have a lot it seems. This would be one of them!

This line is one of the organic lines and it is a dream to work with!! I can't wait to make a quilt out of it!

The case itself was something that was very easy to put together, zipper included! Although, I may have found another addiction...small cases with zippers! You can pop one of these babies out in under an hour!!! SEE!  I need more zippers! Anyone know a good place on line to get these things in multi-color in bulk?! Be warned...you may see lots of zippy little things over the near future. :)

See!! I told you!! I couldn't make just one! Although, the second one I made is from another Robert Kaufman line called Treasures and Tidbits by Piece 'O Cake! Ohh laa laa is all I can say! Someone told me that working with this fabric is like working with a box of crayons! How right she was! Funny too, cuz I was that kid that HAD to have the biggest box of crayons EVERY YEAR!!! I don't know how anyone got along with those boxes that only had 16! **GASP**

Here's a sneak peek of some more of this line....it doesn't actually come out until July 2011.

You're probably saying how mean I am about now. Like how could I show you delicious fabric that you can't even get yet. It's ok....I'm doing a give away to make up for it. :) Check back tomorrow for all the deets!! :D

Oh...one more thing...Anyone interested in me doing a tutorial for the iPad2 case? It's really simple and you can actually use it for the iPad(1) as well. Or whatever you want to use it for. I'm pretty sure it would be multi-functional!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Much Love!!!

  7. "Pick a Bunch" looks great and being organic is a bonus. How would you rate the quality of the actual cloth in this range? I have used some "Nature Walk" cloth, also organic but the quality of the cloth itself felt a little cheaper.

  8. Hey, Karrie, you should come over and raid my stash of zippers. I picked up dozens - maybe more than a hundred - in all sizes and colors at a Salvation Army fabric and craft sale a few years ago. There are quite a few metal zippers, but also a lot of nylon and polyester coil. I think I paid a dime a piece for them.

  9. I just ordered some zippers from Zipit on Etsy. Great service. I even did a mini review of it on my blog.

    I highly recommend her.

I would love to see a variety of zipper projects. I have a lot to learn about them.

  15. No need to reinvent the wheel. Nicole, at Sister's Choice, has written a fool-proof zipper tutorial that changed my life. Well may be it didn't exactly CHANGE MY LIFE, but it did get me addicted to fearlessly making zippity things.

  17. Well I have not broken down and bought an IPad 2 yet but if I had one I would love to have a case like that.

  18. Nice case. I have an iPad 1 and have not made a case for it. MR bought me a Zaggmate keyboard (I have touch screen issues-electrical problems :-( ) and I love it. It protects quiet well too, but would like to have a bag with a strap. Looks like it wouldn't be too hard to add a strap, right? I have not done a zipper since freshman year in HS...73. I tell people I only sew flat things...quilts, but I guess I need to make a case.

  26. a tutorial would be wonderful! My sister requested a cover for her new iPad 2, but I've been having trouble finding dimensions including the cover. Or maybe this means I need to get my own? Thank!

  27. Yes please! I'd like a tut on that. I'm sick of the boring black case we've got on ours.

  28. Of course we want a tutorial, even though most of us could actually figure out how to make a cover....but sure we do love your tutorials!!
I'm talking myself into an iPad2 for sure; maybe for my birthday this coming Thursday OR when I lose 20 pounds OR when I get my bedroom de-cluttered and painted.... hmmmm, decisions, decisions...

  29. YES!! I need a tutorial!! Jenn

  30. I used this tutorial to make a pouch for my Sony eReader this evening. I changed the measurements and used fusible fleece. I would like a bit more padding than the fleece offered and though my reader fits, I should have gone about 1/2" wider. Great tutorial!! Thank you! I uploaded a pic to your flickr group.
