I was sitting at my desk today eating strawberries and I think I had at least five people come up to me and ask me what the heck I was doing...LOL!
When you eat strawberries you remove the green leafy parts, or at least most people do. I always used to think they were a pain in the rear to remove so I started using a straw. Yep, a straw!
Let me explain...
Gather your strawberries, and of course a straw. The best ones are from fast food restaurants like Wendy's or McDonald's because they are fatter and they are stiff!
Hold your strawberry and position the straw beginning at the bottom, pointing towards the top.
Then impale your strawberry! LOL!
Remove the top, then the straw, and you have a perfect strawberry to munch on! :D
Unless your strawberries are HUGE, one impalement should work, if you have some left over, just do it again.
Much Love!!!

I have never seen that trick before, I always thought the green thingys were the handles! But next time I make strawberry pie I am going to use your cute trick - The strawberries would be perfectly shaped and some of the syrup will drizzle inside! Hey - maybe that would work for chocolate dipped ones too!
ReplyDeleteCrafty people always come up with the bestest of solutions! Way cool idea and my daughters would think this is awesome! Thanks for sharing!! Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteCute trick! I agree with Michelle - I use the green leaves as a "handle" when I eat strawberries :-) I love your tip though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! A good way of saving on the waste when the kids eat them!
ReplyDeleteWell, I learned something new today!
ReplyDeleteI've seen that done before and always thought it was so clever.
ReplyDeleteHow cool - now I want to go buy some strawberries and try it!
ReplyDeleteVery clever! At first I thought it was a way to dip the strawberry in chocolate! I guess it would work for that too!
ReplyDeleteOh my god I love that trick! And my fiance, the strawberry fiend, will love it too!
ReplyDeleteThe only downside to this trick is that you do lose some of the strawberry on the bottom. Also, sometimes there's whiter stuff at the top of the strawberry that I like to cut off, and obviously the straw doesn't remove that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to remove the heads from strawberries. I never would have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
