Modern Quilt Guild

Over and over I've seen blog posts about quilters getting together in a Modern Quilt Guild and they always looked so much fun. My dilemma was that there wasn't one very close to me. I kind of live in a podunk town. The nearest ones were like an hour and a half drive. I didn't have that kind of time.

Then my good buddies at my stitch ~n~ bitch decided what a great idea it would be for the three of us to start our own Modern Quilt Guild group!!! **jaw drops while doing happy dance** :D Don't picture that..it's scary! LOL!

With much excitement I introduce to you the Rock River Modern Quilt Guild.  If you live in the stateline area of Wisconsin and Illinois, feel free to join us!! We'd love to have you, even if you don't consider yourself a "modern" quilter! Everyone is welcome. The only requirement is to enjoy, share, be inspired, and have fun! :)

We are having a meet and greet on November 6th from 1-3 pm at Mocha Moments in Janesville, Wi. If you want to join us, click HERE, sign up, RSVP that you will be there and just bring your happy selves. It's just a meet and greet. No sewing. Feel free to bring show and tell though. :)

Yay!! So excited! Hope you see some of you there!

Much Love!!!

  2. Oh, I wish I could come! But it's even farther than the one that's starting here - I told you, didn't I, that Leah from BB is starting one?

  4. KarriLynne - I'm curious (and may be being a bit blonde here but not worried about that) but what defines a 'Modern Quilt Guild' as opposed to a 'normal' quilt guild? I seem to have been out of the loop on this, but have noticed this since coming into the blog world. Ciao

  5. I'm happy for you! I've thought of doing this myself, too, but I fear I get laughed at if I try to (of course there's a "normal" quilt guild here but I was never tempted to join it...).
    Wishing you lots of fun,
    Julia

  6. Yay for you! Like you, there is no MQG near me, so I tagged along with the New Orleans group. Maybe I'll start a MQG here next year???

  7. Congrats on starting a MQG! I love the one I belong to in Kansas City. It's so nice to have other people with similar tastes to share with. I've learned so much too! Have fun!
