Ohh La La!!

You know I love y'all and I'm always looking out for your best interest, right?

**looks to make sure everyone is smiling and shaking their heads** ;D

Ok...so that means I need to tell you about two things!! Two very exciting and VERY awesome things!!

The first thing I want to share with you is an iPhone app. If you have an iPhone, you NEED this app!!!! Seriously!!  If you don't have an iPhone (*GASP*) then you need to go get an iPhone so you can have this app!!

Robert Kaufman Fabrics and Quilters Paradise have created an app called QuiltingCalc and OH. EMM. GEE how I love this app! Lookie what it can do!! And its FREE!!! A lazy designers (that's me) dream ....LOL!
The backing and batting piece has GOT to be my favourite! Don't get me wrong, I usually like doing all the math myself but sometimes you just need to give your brain a rest and this is perfect for that!

The second thing I want to share with you, and some of you may already have seen this, but just in case you have not, you should go check it out. If you don't, you are missing out on some super yummy goodness!!

Two words. Fat. Quarterly!

They are on their third issue already and I'm amazed every time I download it! With designers like Tacha a.k.a. Hanies, Katy a.k.a. I'm A Ginger Monkey, John a.k.a Quilt Dad, Kate from One Flew Over, Brioni a.k.a. Flossy Blossy, and Nova from A Cuppa and a Catch Up!! Not only do they have their own designs included, but they have guest bloggers and designers too plus a TON of helpful tips!!

You can buy each issue individually or you can purchase a subscription so they make it really easy!

Sounds pretty great, huh? It is! If you'd like to check it out, head over to Fat Quarterly to read more and if you want to purchase an issue or 4 (three issues plus a bonus holiday one) you can click HERE!

Enabler? Who me? ;)

Much Love!!!

  1. You are too sweet! I wish we had iPhone service here in Montana! We've been waiting and waiting on this side of the Rockies. Cool app! As for the Fat Quarterly, became a subscriber with the Holiday Issue, so totally feelin' the love :) Thanks for sharing!

  3. Wow!! What a cool app for the iphone. Someday when I grow up I will get an iphone until then I will have to do quilt math the old fashion way - which as crazy as it sounds I like because I am sort of a numbers geek!!!!

  5. I have a couple of quilting apps on my iPod Touch, but I'll have to look for and add this one, too!

And it looks to me that Fat Quarterly is missing one awesome quilt designer..... ;-)

  9. Hi! Cool...I wish I had an iPhone...well, I think it's still the old math for me :).
To be honest - I wasn't that excited about the FQ #3 - except for one quilt (the beautiful quilt by Tacha using MoMo's "It's a hoot")...

  10. thank you for that fantastic app recommendation! I immediately downloaded it to my phone and can't wait to measure a couple completed tops that are waiting for backs and to one day be finished.

  11. Kari ....How about an "I Pad"??? Would love to have this app.

I have my iPad setting right next to my sewing machine! It has been my "quilting tutoring buddy" since I received it as a gift! Gosh I have learned a lot from using it....
