I've had 5 days off from the office and I haven't accomplished much, at least not in the sewing arena.
I finished piecing a quilt and quilted it. Now I'm just tacking down the binding. I just can't show that to you yet, but I will...in due time. I will tell you it's made entirely of Kona Cotton Solids, mostly in purple! ;)
I played with this yummy goodness today...cutting out pieces for my next quilt...
Isn't it pretty?! I love this line!! It's Daisies and Dots by Piece 'O Cake for Robert Kaufman! Look for it in January!! That means start saving those pennies! It's so bright and happy and cheery! You can't help but smile when you work with it. :)
I also did some shopping this weekend. I braved Black Friday. I woke up at 4 am (that's a miracle in itself. Seriously.) and went and stood in line for an hour in 15 degree freezing my buns off weather. Too bad some of my buns didn't *really* freeze off...I could stand to be missing some...LOL! Anyways, I got what I wanted at that store and it's for my kiddos so it was worth it. I'd tell you where and what but my kids are nosy and will probably read this (**yes i'm watching you kids**) so I can't say. But I got a few good deals!
I did some more shopping yesterday, but I think I will tell you about that tomorrow. :)
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend!!
Take it easy the rest of the night...back to the office tomorrow. Ugh. **bangs head on desk**
Much Love!!!
That's the only bad part about the Thanksgiving weekend - going back to work on Monday! But at least it's not too long until Christmas.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric! I bet it makes you smile!!
Squeeeeee!!!!!! Polka Dots! My FAVE! Daisies! My fave flower! I must have this fabric! This is the 3rd time I have said this about a fabric line this weekend. Oh my is my debit card going to hate me next month! I had better find a stash place soon that my hubby won't notice! Ha! :o)
ReplyDeleteI told myself I would not buy anymore fabric...but daisies and dots!!!!!!!!!! Love the brown print fabric. The wheels are already turning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up. Will be watching for this line for sure.
blessings,
jilly
That is really pretty fabric. I bet you will make a really great quilt with it.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny! You said you didn't get much done in the quilting.. and then you said you finished piecing a top and quilting it. To me, that is A LOT! That is an amazing amount. I would love to finish a top. I think I need to spank my sewing machine into submission!
ReplyDeleteKuddos to you for braving 4am!!!! That fabric is so pretty! Can't wait to see what you put together!
ReplyDeleteI went Black Friday shopping too, but did the midnight shopping because I really didn't need any door buster electronics this year :) It was crazy because they said people were in line starting 4pm on Thursday!!! What'd ya get?
ReplyDeleteohhh i can't wait to see what you are making!!
